Meet Kermit Roosevelt

A distinguished constitutional scholar and award-winning author, Kermit Roosevelt tells extraordinary stories of triumph and conflict behind pivotal moments in American history, offering audiences brilliant insight into the lessons we can take from the past to thrive in today’s fast-changing world.

Drawing on his deep knowledge of history, politics and law, his profound understanding of human behavior, and his exceptional talent for storytelling, Kermit Roosevelt brings a dynamic voice to the public forum. He is a professor of constitutional law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, a member of the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court, a former clerk for Supreme Court Justice David Souter, an advisory board member for the National Constitution Center’s Coalition of Freedom, and a Distinguished Research Fellow of the Annenberg Public Policy Center. Sensible, inspiring, and thoughtful, Roosevelt engages audiences with remarkable stories of heroism, adversity, and progress in America – then and now.

Roosevelt’s novels include Allegiance, a Harper Lee Prize finalist, and the national campus bestseller In the Shadow of the Law, winner of the Philadelphia Athenaeum Award, a Christian Science Monitor Best Book of the Year, and a New York Times Editors’ Choice Selection. His nonfiction includes The Myth of Judicial Activism: Making Sense of Supreme Court Decisions and Conflict of Laws. His law review articles have been cited by the Supreme Court.
